Goals :

The Wartsila engine have modbus communication function in its control module, but we don't know whether this feature enable or not. The LDU is broken and unable to repair, thus the user ask for any alternative so they could monitor the engine operation.

To solve the user problem, we try to built a HMI with the same functionality of existing LDU, which provide the monitoring function of diesel engine parameter. We add another serial communication line for modbus communication connect the new HMI to diesel engine control module modbus port.

The project executed successfully and the HMI could monitor all diesel engine parameter properly.
